To think that King Charles is hangry

And that a cooked breakfast and a tuna salad for lunch would sort out his temper tantrums?

The King eats fruit and seeds for breakfast and skips lunch. His sugar levels will spike early on and then dip as the day goes on. No wonder he is tetchy and cranky at 3pm.

Will someone please take pity on him and send him a hamper from Greggs?

And maybe bung a couple of Bic biros in there too

TokyoTen · 14/09/2022 09:49

I think you may be right OP! His car needs to go through a Maccy D's drive through on the way to each event.

He seem quite petulant. I mean if you're the King and your pen isn't to your liking to sign a special document can't you just say "Please can I have another pen and some more ink" rather than all toys out the cot. I mean it's not like he's got to go and buy it from Smiths is it.

LadyKenya · 14/09/2022 09:53

I am just wondering how the OP knows what the king eats for breakfast. He probably would not appreciate a Gregg's hamper though.

LadyHaversham · 14/09/2022 09:53

I get sweary and fuming every time I see another bloody cobweb on a window I’ve just cleaned, but I don’t have a camera crew recording my every f bomb. And I have the luxury of a constant fridge to pick at.

The King needs his protein.

@LadyKenya Google is your friend, my dear, Google is your friend.

He is also grieving. Cut the man some slack. He lost his mother last week, and has been on public display since then.
Let him get through this week, have a week off to mentally deal with the massive shift in responsibility and loss of last week.
If he carrys on in the same vein after that, sure start judging him. But right now, give him the benifit of the doubt.

blodbav · 14/09/2022 10:01

Anyone would be frustrated after such a stressful week. I find it weird that video was shared in the first place by somebody

Wiglio · 14/09/2022 10:27

He must be more exhausted than hangry
i thought he was very restrained about the pen.
His hosts had a fraction of his recent responsibilities and they couldn’t even provide a pen that worked.

Absolutely, I doubt many of us can do what he is doing whilst grieving his mum. Let's give him a chance.

Or a vat of Brown Windsor soup.

Neverendingdust · 14/09/2022 10:32

I think that video is a good thing- it shows that the polished image presented is masking exhaustion and grief. It’s knackaring enough grieving and doing the usual duties in a normal death, but to have to do this with relentless ceremonial duties on top will be really taking it’s toll.

Comedycook · 14/09/2022 10:34

My guess is he's been pampered all his life and is now completely entitled. I think he's going to be a dreadful king.

AbsentinSpring · 14/09/2022 10:34

From the expression on Camilla's face, I'd imagine his tantrums are not an unusual occurrence.

Is it true he's issued redundancy notices to 100 members of his staff?

mondaytosunday · 14/09/2022 10:53

I know you are joking but really - he's been on view practically non stop since his mother died and one moment caught and there's been about a dozen threads about it! Enough!
But I agree - Krispy Kremes now is your moment.

VatofTea · 14/09/2022 10:57

He is grieving, and just not thinking straight and under immense pressure. He knows if a blot of ink spill on his shirt cuff it will be all over the news, and it will be deemed disrespectful to his mother. Cut the guy some slack.

catandcoffee · 14/09/2022 11:04

We've seen the real man and how he behaves to staff.

Agree. I don't think this is a response to grief ..it's because he's been waited on hand and foot his entire life.

SleepingStandingUp · 14/09/2022 11:26

I've missed media coverage of whatever you're talking about regarding his temper tantrums but he's just lost his Mom, is expected to go round and listen to everyone else's grief, pull his kids into line to behave in public and deal with his younger siblings grief. He's allowed to not be happy and smiley ffs

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 14/09/2022 11:30

I'd have been more pissed off than him if ink spilled over me then I had to go and shake people's hands all day, and that's without losing my mother and being on telly all week and travelling up and down the country. He made a slightly irritated comment, no biggy.

He doesn't look underfed, I'm sure he's ok 😉

MarshaMelrose · 14/09/2022 11:31

Is it really beyond the wit of aides to provide a pen that doesn't leak ink everywhere. Poor Camilla was fed up. She had sore feet and was then covered in ink and she still had the church ceremony to get through.
Won't someone buy him a decent pen? He doesn't want to have all his official documents marred by ink blots.

But you don't like him so you're always going to want to think the worst of him.

LadyHaversham · 14/09/2022 11:34

This is all my point exactly. He’s going through a shite time with a punishing schedule in the public glare. The man needs protein and carbs through the day to keep his energy levels up.

OP posts:
WeAreTheHeroes · 14/09/2022 11:34

You might mean this light heartedly OP, but some of the comments on this thread are mean spirited and, frankly, nasty speculation considering his recent bereavement and schedule.

Comedycook · 14/09/2022 11:35

I don't particularly like or dislike him. I think living a life of incredible privilege must have an effect though
