King Prince Charles

I'm finding it so strange to say King Charles, it feels like I'm talking about a fictional character.

I keep saying saying, now that Prince Charles is King, instead of just saying King Charles.

Is anyone having the same issue?

Well yeah. He’s only been king for a day so it will be odd.

They do. I saw a clip.of a newsreader repeatedly saying "his majesty the Queen", correcting himself and then saying it again a sentence later.

I keep thinking they are on about king Charles spaniels

I watched a bit of the service at St Paul's yesterday and wondered if they'd given everyone a print out of the words with KING and HIM made very obvious...

I think the difference is most of us only ever knew her as 'The Queen' as the transition took place in the 50s, before the majority of us were born. We knew no different.

And Elvis has always been The King in my lifetime!

It will take some getting used to but it is early days.

it occurred to me that prior to this week the last time British people heard the king addressing the nation it was on the radio.

I di keep expecting him to appear with an impressive wig, a sardonic smile and a lot of yappy little spaniels at his (high) heels. I'm a bit of a Charles II fan, really

This morning I read the line ‘King Charles III’ as that he was poorly 🙄

We need an interim version of the National Anthem 'God Save the Quing' while people adjust. It would use the pronoun 'herm'.

I was just watching the parliamentarians in Westminster Hall, singing God Save the King and was taken aback to see that Prince Charles wasn’t singing! And then I thought, oh yeah 🤦‍♀️

Or His Majesty the Queen as one of the TV presenters slipped up with a couple of times 😆 I think he can be forgiven as it was within hours of The Queens death!!

My name is Carol and I’ve just read we have moved from a second Elizabethan era to a 3rd Carolean era. Mind is blown.

Ah, well we can just change the anthem to 'Sweet Carolean' then. Everyone knows the words by now - problem solved.

I haven't had cause to try it out yet. I suspect generally, by us ordinary people, it'll just be 'Charles' anyway.
