The queens funeral

Sorry if this has been posted already. I can't find a thread but conscious I might be missing it!
I've read a few things o like saying the funeral is expected to be on Monday the 19th (not confirmed).
I work Mondays, gutted I was really wanting to sit down and watch it!
Is it likely to be a bank holiday style day so most of the country can watch the funeral? I can't imagine so many people not being able to watch such a monumental thing.

No one knows. At the moment the suggestion is schools will close but every thing else will be up to employer so God knows how that will work.

They have yet to announce, but I hope they get on with it so people can plan.

I agree. It’s not likely they didn’t already have a plan and it’s not like it’s the bereaved family who are making the decision so I don’t understand the hold up.

Yeah I work in care and that’s my Monday to work. Might have it on at work though.

My understanding is that it will be a day of national mourning.

If they shut schools I hope work places are lenient.

Yes but hospitals, care home and emergency services don't stop just cos the Queen's getting buried.

Maybe schools should be open for those that can't take a day off work? They managed during those covid lockdowns with the key worker provision.

I can’t imagine many people will be able to watch. I’ll be at work. My job still needs doing, more so than ever. I don’t get public holidays, even if one is announced.

How will you travel there? Are you in walking distance?

Schools will close I imagine and I wonder if outpatient hospital appointments, non emergency surgeries and GPs will close

Oh my goodness if the schools shut and I still have to work I absolutely won't be able to watch the funera and neither will my mum who will have to watch my boys 😳
