Apologies if I missed one elsewhere (or have they been deleted)

I had forgotten about the Nazi photos, and the other comments. Evidently so had he.

(Vague as probably will be deleted)

so basically people digging up very old news in order to try to make him look bad now. Zzzzz

Exactly !

It's not the gotcha moment they think it is. The hashtag is being used by the same handful of people, with very little likes. Guess that's what happens now, they have everything out on Harry, nothing to reveal really. He apologised, went on his course, changed his attitude. It's been rehashed to death.

A bit (though not hugely) surprised someone is wasting time on here with this.

niveaessential · 13/07/2022 14:10

it's only trending because people are tweeting just to say hey look what's trending. lol

This is old, old news. And he's apologised and clearly moved on as a person. I like him more for that - he's human and willing to take responsibility for his mistakes.

I think he grew up in a culture where that kind of thing was the norm, not necessarily out of spite or genuine racism (as in hatred or or concscious discrimination) but public school arrogance and a particular type of 'humour' and lack of sensitivity. The army have a similar thing where it's part of the camaraderie to be offensive. I don't like it but I don't think it's fair to hold Harry solely responsible to the point where it's being held against him decades later.

Aspiringmatriarch · 14/07/2022 10:16

Conscious, sorry.

antelopevalley · 15/07/2022 14:13

Harry grew up surrounded by racism. Of course, he was racist then.
Do you think people can never change?

Didn't his brother throw himself an entire 21st birthday and ask people to attend dressed like Africans. William and his friends turned up, mocking Africans.
Then he and Kate went on to visit Tuvalu and other islands enjoying being carried by natives while sitting on thrones.
More recently they dressed up like colonialists during their Caribbean tour - and this wasn't even a party.
I am not sure why people feel it necessary to dig up the past. It doesn't seem like there was ever anyone at the palace to guide them, William was doing all this as an adult.

I think it's because this is a British site that people think 'old news'

It was not as well known elsewhere, and if US is only just discovering it for the first time, them I'm not surprised that it's gaining attention. And even minor levels of interest in US is a huge number of people reading tweets.

Well it was Williams party. And his entire theme which was ' natives and colonials' was distasteful at best. I dont think its fair to keep shining the spotlight on one person who fucked up when they were young and surrounded by people doung the same...... Im glad Im not still being held up as accountable for fuck ups I made at that age. 😬
