What will the Queen say about this?

The Queen is famously diplomatic and is used to talking politely about all sorts of random topics with the people she meets. I would love to know whether she will ask Meghan how her father is, or just ignore the subject. What would you do, if you were the Queen?

I think the queen is more likely to say:

"Shall we go through that checklist again?

Private jet scrambled for mercy dash to see ailing "grannie" charged to taxpayer?

Security, driver, security, did I say security? Yep, all taxpayer.

Frog cottage prepped? Soz it wasn't Frog House, but, you know, the revolting peasants.

Your kid's soiled cast-offs/banana bread/sharpie/bag of junk food for poor people? They love that personal touch.

Netflix cameras in tow?

Let's doooo it. That'll show them. Some even have the temerity not to like us".

there is no way the Queen would ask that. That’s just ridiculous.

To which Meghan could presumably reply "and how's Andrew?"

Bit pointless as he will almost certainly be there.

@Jacopo. I'm not sure about the Queen, but I have thought about what I would say if I were P. William or The Duchess of Cambridge.
As in the past, details of their conversations have been reported back by Gayle King and some others, I would be very wary of anything I would say, in case it was reported back, and then on TV the next day.
So, I thought about this, and decided that I would stick to 'safe' subjects, such as the British weather (that's always a good one), and then maybe work on a few other 'safe' topics, in order to be utterly prepared.

Jacopo · 03/06/2022 09:44

@milveycrohn I think you’re right. It must be mentally exhausting though. There’s a limit to how much one can say about the weather, even in Britain!

Is the Queen going to ask Andrew how he has the church supporting him?

That's an enormous leap from the Archbishop saying that forgiveness is a Christian virtue. For those who truly repent

Yes, being respectful of someone's parents and grandparents is a rather good guiding principle in life, is it not?
