Hello

I am helping to host a street party for my neighbours, most of whom are elderly, to celebrate the Queen' Jubilee.

We will be playing Royal Bingo and Pin The Tail On The Corgi.

I will be putting up bunting and playing music from seventy years ago.

If anyone has got any other ideas or games that could be played I would be very grateful.

Thank you Flowers

@littleangel50
“The same woman who since covid started has not spoke to the Nation we will get through this.”

You obviously missed the Queen’s “We’ll meet again” address to the nation during lockdown???

I hope it rains.

I'm old enough to remember the Silver Jubilee. What you need is Jubilade! We need to start a petition asking the Co-op to bring it back.

Jubilade -

a. Nectar of the Gods
b. An over-fond memory based on the fact that fizzy drinks were rarer than hens' teeth in my frugal 70s childhood.

What about bingo? There are a few royal/jubilee versions on Amazon.

We'll be having a low key celebration (not many royalists on our road!). Probably, coronation chicken, strawberry cream tea in the garden and some old fashioned music and games.

Without joining in the royal bashing as it is inappropriate on OP’s thread I do wish I could celebrate without the royal connotations.
I couldn’t stomach all the royal stuff h
but would love to get people together.

Could you arrange a street party for a different time of year, every year? All old traditions were new once upon a time.

I shall be tugging my forelock for all 4 days. It's been growing since April 1st. Sorry, that isn't a sensible answer, OP.

I’d love to know where these towns are. They sound so much fun!

We’re a small, rural village (although many “locals” claim were the largest village by area in England. You don’t become a local til your this generation the way😂) in the North West of England. We have one shop, one pub and a chippy so if we want to have any fun, we have to make it ourselves!
