The Queen's recent outfits

I know the Queen has a dresser and she is always dressed in a very appropriate way. She generally looks nice. But the photos this weekend of her she looks absolutely magnificent - that dark green cloak looks amazing on her, as does the teal colour dress she's wearing in the official photos of her sitting with the corgi. I'm just wondering if it's the clothes are different in style, or that she looks genuinely happy, or a combination of both?

Perhaps she's secretly planning to retire in July and cannot contain her glee!

I think it's because that, although this is a bittersweet day for her, because it is the anniversary of her father's death and of course she's had a crappy year, she's still putting one foot in front of the other, and playing the part. And yes she did look happy.

And it's nice to see that she still has dogs

When she was cutting the cake on Saturday she was wearing the blue dress with what I call the 'doily' white flowers. I do not think that in a sneering way. It's pretty and I think we've seen her in a coat that goes over it. It looks as if her weight loss has stabilised now and she looked very cheerful. Some people are so odd in the way that they think she should or will abdicate. She's probably going to pick and choose and do less and Charles will do more.

Honestly I don't have an opinion. I just think if I were here I'd have had enough of the shenanigans over the last few years and if not abdicating step right back and have some sort of retirement whilst I still had my health.

I just think she looks better than she has done in years - and she generally always looks nice so this is extra. Can't see her stepping back myself, and I don't actually get the impression she'd want to.

I think she'll probably do fewer of the big formal events which entail dressing up, long hours and being on her feet for a long time, and more low key, informal events like the one at Sandringham this weekend, where she can slip away when she's had enough rather than having to stay until the end.

But she will still carry on her constitutional role of seeing ministers and reading government papers and keeping up with events. That was emphasised in one of the photos released at the weekend, which showed her with a red box in front of her.

I think she always looks amazing now. Some of the photo of her in the 70s etc show some awful hats, but the ones she wears now are fantastic. I wonder how big her wardrobes are !

I think she always looks amazing now I think that is a compliment for her dresser, Angela Kelly, who also designs some of the things she wears.
