Who's your favourite member of the royal family?

Do you have a favourite Royal? Whether it's the UK royals or another monarchy? I really admire the Queen personally. I like Sophie too, she and Edward seem like such a kind, unassuming couple. I also really like Harry, even with the scandals he has always seemed to be a really good man and a good laugh too. I also like the Swedish royals, they all look so composed and all get on with one another.

Anne and Zara (my horsey side coming to the fore)

Sophie seems a good egg.

And Camilla is actually very likeable

Sophie and Edward sat on the next table to ours in a v v nice restaurant a few years ago. They were VERY loved up. They seemed utterly normal (as far as we could ascertain from watching them with sneaky sideways glances on the way to the ladies!)

PlinkPlankPlunk · 14/01/2022 10:24

I like Sophie and Lady Louise - they seem to have a lovely mother-daughter dynamic. Princess Catherine has grown into her role and would be hard to dislike, I think. Lady Sarah Chatto is also a good egg, by all accounts.

Prince Charles had spoken out on a lot of topics which tbf was probably quite hard in his position

Never liked Diana from the moment I first saw her. Anne is my favourite, I've met her and Charles but Anne is the best I think.

Kate (& Meghan)

Zara

Anne

William (& Harry)

Not too keen on any of the others although the York sisters and Lady Louise seem sweet

Harry. Only one who’s blown the lid off of all of it and said “this is bullshit”. Which it is.

Fatherliamdeliverance · 14/01/2022 11:17

I do admire the queen inasmuch as I admire anyone who puts in a shift at a demanding job (i know she is rewarded with huge privilege but happiness isn't all about that).

The york sisters seem nice enough and I feel for them not being as photogenic as KM, some really awful things have been said by the press.

Anne seems like a good un, a shouty riding instructor type, she's worked hard too.

Camilla looks like a laugh.

Whilst continuing to live in luxury and trade off his family associations at every opportunity. His ‘work’ consists of trashing his family for money and using his name to get a ‘job’ which is actually just putting his name forward as a logo.

The children. I don't think you can say they've done anything wrong.

The Queen. She's marvellous. I do like the Duchess of Cambridge, and the Duchess of Cornwall too.

Gardeningdream · 14/01/2022 11:24

I find the queen and Kate both curious.

The queen because she’s so dedicated to duty, she puts it ahead of family, and her family, let’s face it, have been a huge disappointment and difficulty in the main.

Charles and his marriages and love life, his propensity to send letters and wade in where he has limited experience.
Edward does very little, seldom to be seen, just appears to live off the family money, but Sophie his wife at least makes an effort and seems to try her best.
Andrew, and everything from the freeloading to the current abuse case he faces. His relationship with fergie and rhe cringe shit they do for money,
Harry and his flogging stories about his upbringing and trashtalking them for money and publicity.

And then we have Kate, not born to it, acting like everything is fine, acting more royal than the royals themselves.

It’s all a bit like the worst soap opera you could imagine. So much entitlement and awful low moral behaviour it’s jaw dropping.

I'm pretty indifferent to them all in general. I'd not have strong feelings either way if the monarchy was abolished after the Queen dies.

However if I was to pick one of them that I think well of It would be the Queen herself. She has put up, shut up and shown up without fail for 70 years of her life. She seems to have understood the deal - enjoy the benefits of extreme luxury and privilege, but do your duty without complaint, comment or evidence of personal preference. Oh, and without retiring.

HeronLanyon · 14/01/2022 13:45

Princess Anne - by a long distance before others but would prefer to be without them all.

Camila, Kate, Megan and Sophie. The best I can say about the rest is they pick good partners!

Disneydatknee88 · 16/01/2022 01:52

I'm not a royalist at all but I think Kate is always well put together and seems sweet and down to earth.

And yet still freeloading off his ( royal) family ....He’s a.bit of a tosser IMO 🙄
ApplesinmyPocket · 16/01/2022 01:59

I don't like or 'admire' any of them, find that an odd concept re what would be a very ordinary set of people indeed were it not for where their birth placed them (in front of you and me by some miles) but children are always interesting to me and Charlotte seems spunky and 'cute' so I'm going with her.
