If Andrew is not a working Royal, who is paying for the police outside his Windsor home?

His Mum (meaning us)

This from May 2020

Prince Andrew 'is allowed to keep his £300,000-a-year bodyguards after the Queen intervened at the last minute'
A source has claimed The Queen intervened with the cost-cutting measure
Prince Andrew will now be allowed to keep security team as cuts are reviewed

Thanks Rousette.

If it is the taxpayer (via the Met) as opposed to coming from the family's own private coffers, it is quite a scandal. I'm wondering why MSM haven't picked up on it, especially given how very unpopular he is at the moment.

Because MSM need us to like the queen so we don't do anything inconvenient like demand a republic.

It's ok for us to be scandalised at the rotten apple, but we mustn't be allowed to focus on the fact that his mum's enabling it all.

Roussette · 13/09/2021 13:08

Ahhh well, interestingly the Queen is paying it (I think) from the Duchy of Lancaster. It's a very grey area but she would consider that to be her private income, but in fact it's an estate of the British sovereign, although it can't be sold or transferred and it's not her own personal family property as such. Murky grey!

PeriWrinkles · 13/09/2021 13:16

@Roussette Yes that may well be true, but leaving aside her land-grabbing revenues for a minute, she's still doing everything possible to help him evade the law.

Roussette · 13/09/2021 13:25

Isn't she just.... you couldn't make it up.

Rousette, you seem very knowledgeable

He has doubtless told his mother he is innocent - and she believes him. Then, knowing how unpopular he is, she doesn't want him put at risk from vigilantes..
And people do need to remember, though there is much evidence that he is a vile person, he may not be guilty of this particular crime. Rumour says (ok, just rumour) that a number of prominent Americans have paid heavily in return for an NDA. Of course the RF would never do this.

When Charles inherits the Duchy of Lancaster Andrew will be lucky to get the price of a cup of tea!

GlobalForce · 24/09/2021 07:33

The poor American taxpayers are being scammed also by the woke Scar (us by the pervet scar) in the two pronged attack on their Lion King brothers.

I am not keen on a scammer President Cameron or a grifter President Blair either.

I think there should be some sort of Nolan principle /criminal legislation thing to deal with these people.

upinaballoon · 24/09/2021 10:12

GlobalForce, please could you explain what or who is woke Scar?

GlobalForce · 24/09/2021 11:09

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scar_(The_Lion_King)

This should help if you have not watched the movie.
