Question about police protection security for Archie when growing up

Harry and Meghan implied Archie would not have ever been provided with security, even as a baby, as Meghan said she was very scared of having to offer up their baby for the traditional post hospital photo op knowing that Archie wouldn’t be kept safe.

But I have read as a full-time working royal, Harry and his family would have been entitled to 24-hour security by Metropolitan Police protection officers.

I understand when Archie is an adult he will move further down the succession list if the Cambridge children have their own families and it is reported he would not have been expected to be playing a key role in royal duties when older. So he probably would have been a non working royal in adulthood and so would not then get security. However, if it is true as a full-time working royal, Harry and his family would have been entitled to 24-hour security by Metropolitan Police protection officers, why would Meghan claim Archie would not get security until at least age 18 including as a newborn during the traditional post hospital photo op?

Any knowledgeable folks on this issue? Thank you.

As a working royal Harry & his family would have always had security. Even if he had stepped away from royal duties but remained in the UK he and his family would still have had security (because he is a prince).

However by stepping away from royal duties and moving their family to Canada / USA. The cost of their security could no longer be covered by the British tax payer.

Security cannot he offered to all the queens grandchildren and their children, should they decide to move abroad expand their families, refusing to serve as royals etc. (Splashing their personal life all over the press, living a high profile celebrity life, borrowing mansions from celebrities, travelling around the world on private jets etc. Not giving anything back to Britain or the royal family. While the British tax payer pays for their security)

Harry's children were never going to be princes & princesses (they could on the queens death, however possibly not) Prince Charles is very passionate about slimming down the royal family and reducing those with titles - this has been on the cards for a long time now. This has nothing to do with Harry or who he married.

They list their security because they left the UK, not because of any titles.

In order to sustain itself the RF needs to be streamline & efficient, less titles and less front line royals. More modern. This is Charles' philosophy.
