Hugo Vickers made me laugh with his phrasing. So British to say “a bit naughty”. Grin

Also, seriously high lights how many people don’t understand the rules or can’t explain the rules well, and no American has a hope of grasping our quaint & complicated rules and institutions, really.

Sorry, it’s the Daily Fail, but funny.

@12FreeRangeEggs

I grew up in Hollywood and UK with a famous parent. From my experiences the fact that MM was “a bit naughty implying xyz” will not bother Hollywood or the media in the US. Most Hollywood types lie all the time whether it be about their height or their abilities or whatever. I mean actors are always appearing on talk shows laughing about lying on their CVs that they could horse ride then getting a part in a Western and THEN having to learn horseback riding, or whatever it was they lied about. In Britain we hold people accountable and expect a level of candor from people in the public eye. In Hollywood people are focusing on the main take outs - the racism, the suicide bid and the Disney princess trapped in a tower narrative. I’m not surprised that her story is peppered with untruths and crucially the US media won’t let these untruths detract from the rest of MM’s story or cast doubt on “her truth”.
That is a good wake up call. Very sad too.

I missed this post. That’s the ultimate summary, and from someone who straddles Britain and Hollywood. Thanks. Smile
