Cambridge’s dog has died

Their beautiful spaniel died last week aged 9. It’s so sad when a much loved pet died. I remember my mum being devastated when our dog died - and she had grown up on a farm with lots of working dogs.

Well, i helped many pets over the rainbow bridge this week, families devastated. No different really

It's quite young, do we know what it died of?

How sad. 9 is fairly young for a cocker spaniel. I have a 15 year old one who has only really started becoming noticeably creaky within the last 6 months.

Was the dog bred by Kate's parents? I think I read that somewhere, but could be wrong?

Reading that has made me quite upset. Probably because my spaniel is nearly nine. That’s so young for a breed like that.

I think you’re becoming a touch hardened there LEM. It’s sad because it’s a dog passing, not because having royal o nets makes it “different” somehow.

My sympathies to any who have lost a dog. I know that pain.

It is always sad for any family when a beloved pet dies but the fact that it is the Cambridge's dog doesn't make it worse than any other pet death. 9 isn't old though. Poor thing.

I was shocked when I read this 9 seems so young, my dog is 12 and I’m dreading losing her. James Middleton has written a beautiful message about Lupo and how devastating the loss of a much loved pet is. A heartbreaking time for anyone going through that.
