No harm in having it ready for the next event/announcement...

I enjoy reading your contributions Mustress and I’m glad you started the threads in the first place.

Yes one thing I do not blame them for whatsoever is getting away from the PA debacle. I know for a fact I would be desperate not to be tainted by that, but I suppose they can hardly say that's the reason.

It's really clear that you don't think you should be challenged. There's been different strategies for dealing with this. But you need a private forum if you want to post your opinions and only allow agreement. I think there's been a lot of vitriol on this thread. As MN doesn't think it foul of their guidelines, fine but I can make my own judgement. I think you're cross you're being challenged, but it's a site for discussion. I think the nice thread discuss this thread as they're suprised to say the least by the attitudes here. I've seen the cat thread also discuss this thread and the nice thread. They never seem to get the response they're looking for on the nice thread though.

So I think we can all agree that we see these threads differently, but hopefully we all agree everybody has a right to be here.

The group of posters who defend MM to the hilt have ensured that what I started as a simple chat topic has grown to fifteen threads.

I think this is unfair. The threads have been kept alive primarily by people who want to keep up the negativity about Meghan. This one is a good example. There is nothing even current now in the media about her. So why was this thread started?

Same Mutress. I wish you felt you could stay as you've done and said nothing wrong.

Dandy, yes, that wasn't very well put. All i meant to say is that sometimes it feels as though just because someone is mixed race they are above scrutiny as any scrutiny is automatically 'racism'. Whatever someone's ethnic background their behaviour, especially if they are vastly privileged is open to scrutiny. Of course Andrew's behaviour is on a whole other level, I didn't mean they were comparable. Clumsily expressed.

Caitlyn Jenner says they're moving to Malibu! How can you say there's nothing current to discuss?!

Re the Archie thing. That's what pushed me to finally post. I thought it was way over the line and said so. A few posters immediately piped up and said they didn't like it either tbf.

With the exception of one poster who told me to "lighten up" it was fairly quickly agreed by everyone that Archie was off limits and he was never brought into the discussion after that.

One of my favourite people is Serena Williams. She's one of the greatest sports people of all time. She's had some of the most vile racism thrown at her all her life. But that doesn't stop her. Sometimes she's stroppy on court but that's because she's incredibly competitive. What you see is what you get. She is charitable and one of the best things was this:
www.dw.com/en/serena-williams-ends-3-year-title-drought-donates-winnings-to-australia-fire-victims/a-51971705
Similarly Diane Abbott. A pioneering politician. Whatever you might think of her politics she has served as an MP for decades despite nasty abuse.
People on here are saying these threads are vile, misogynistic etc but Meghan is being paid from the public purse and therefore her conduct is open to scrutiny. I don't give a damn about bump cradling or stuff like that. For me it comes down to money.

Saying that WE have kept the 15 threads going is nonsense. I kept off of a lot of them, they still kept going on and on. I have no idea who else was on there.

I think as more comes out about the loathsome Andrew, H&M are to be admired from distancing themselves from the shitshow. The queen has show questionable judgment at best (could well be questionable morals and ethics) so why should they be guided by what she says? I suspect/hope they loathe PA and want to distance themselves from a family that protects a vile, alleged sex offender.

Great post. I have huge respect for the Queen, but she made a mistake last week when she allowed PA to accompany her Church. She clearly thought it had all blown over. It hasn't.

Prob off-topic now but re: Camilla... if I was ever invited to a Royal Family shindig, she'd be the person I'd love to sit next to. Bet she's a right hoot.

Hi all,

It's not really on to pull in arguments from other threads and turn threads TAATs. Please do avoid doing this and as always, report any concerns to us. We're always happy to take a look.

Met Zara on a girls night out in Minchinhampton a few years ago. She was with her brother in the pub we were in and told us a few quite rude jokes - great fun.

I used to know someone who was close friends with her. From what she told me, Zara and Mike are really down to earth, great sense of humour and good fun.

This whole Harry and Meghan debacle and the Andrew scandal have made me consider republicanism for the first time in my life. Being brought up in the royal family has clearly given both Harry and Andrew a ridiculous sense of entitlement and also left them directionless. They would both have been much happier in an armed forces life.
I don't think the Queen and Prince Philip care too much about palaces, jewels and the like. It was all about duty for them.

Not so, but I definitely have an issue with the manner in which people are challenged. I think possibly some people think it makes them look “hard” to be rude to other posters. It doesn’t. But it does stifle honest and constructive debate.
