The royal family

Is Britain warming up to the idea of Charles as King?

Things he used to be mocked for, his so-called sensitivity, ie caring about the environment, farming methods etc... /compare his interests to Prince Andrew's and it suddenly seems like he mightn't be so bad. If the monarchy is going to exist at all that is.

Good for them, but ordinary mortals trying to exist in a difficult Britain could'nt give a fig about Invictus, Sorry now,

Invictus is quite niche, but that's Prince Harry, not Prince Charles

I have definitely warmed to him. I believe he will make a good King who cares.

He twiddles his pinkie ring a lot. Is that caring? What does he actually do? Is he helping people get temp homes when they are flooded out? What about serving up food in a homeless hostel? Does he actually do anything? Or does he write spider letters and make speeches about pet projects?

The Princes Trust is worthwhile but he has put up rents on Duchy of Cornwall property. That’s where the real money comes from. The farmers are not happy.

I don’t think most people really give a toss do they? I know there’s all those nutters that collect plates and hang around outside maternity wards for days when a baby is due, but most people don’t really care do they? I’ve had a couple of conversations with people about the royal family recently due to Prince Andrew and then Prince Harry leaving, but normally I don’t think your average person will mention the royal family for years at a time.

Oh, just noticed this is in the Royal Family topic. I’ll leave you to it.

I've warmed to the idea of PC becoming King one day. Just as well really. I've even warmed to Camilla too. She's had a tough ride. I know she and PC did wrong but Diana wasn't the wonderful person I thought she was either. She messed around too with, by all accounts, a number of men. Camilla has clearly supported PC and made him happy and it is better for people to divorce than to be unhappy and stay together purely because they have children.

PC and Camilla will do well when PC is king but obviously he will be preparing PW for taking over due to the age he'll be when he succeeds HMQ.
