Yes, I've got it on. The actual service hasn't started yet (1100?) bythe preamble with all the information about the original Coronation has been absolutely fascinating.

I do hope the DofE is fully recovered.

AuntieStella · 04/06/2013 10:56

I wonder why Prince Edward has brought only one of his children?

Prince Charles arriving, so all ready to start.

AuntieStella · 04/06/2013 11:01

DofE is there. Good.

Theknitwitch · 04/06/2013 11:06

camilla has fell on her feet. can not stand that woman

kalidasa · 04/06/2013 11:10

ooh my Dad's at it. Didn't realise it was on the telly!

AuntieStella · 04/06/2013 11:12

How lovely, kalidasa, can you share why he was invited?

schoolchauffeur · 04/06/2013 11:33

I think Prince Edward's son is only 5- there seems to be a tradition of only allowing royal children to these events when they are about 7 or 8 depending on how good they are at sitting still!

kalidasa · 04/06/2013 11:46

He was at the original thing auntiestella so I guess that's why? He was one of those voices doing the first cry of "vivat regina" in the middle of the anthem. I think he was 14.

kalidasa · 04/06/2013 11:46

I am watching from the beginning now to see if I can spot him but no luck so far.

Horsemad · 04/06/2013 12:01

Oh wow kalidasa, how fab Smile does he have clear recollections of that day?

kalidasa · 04/06/2013 12:15

I think so but am ashamed to say I have never really asked him. Having lunch with him later though so will ask him then! I managed to spot him in the end which was exciting - he was in the front row but quite near the door, so there was a good shot of him as the queen etc was coming in.

Horsemad · 04/06/2013 12:23

Aww, be sure to ask all about 60yrs ago! Smile

FreedomOfTheTess · 05/06/2013 14:15

Bit annoyed at a couple of the papers this morning, who have a picture of Catherine on the front from yesterday, but not a picture of the Queen on the front page.

Remind me whose Coronation service this was again?!

Horsemad · 05/06/2013 17:54

That's Treason Freedom!

Damn papers, should remember whose Coronation Commemoration it actually was.
