Wondering whether we should (mostly for the children's sake) or will it be a total waste of time seeing nearly nothing?

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 19/04/2011 16:33

foe amoment I thought this was asking if anyone was attending the actual ceremony...Grin

GypsyMoth · 19/04/2011 16:37

well i should be attending!! i did used to work amongst themGrin

however,i'm going to line the mall with the rest!

not sure where to actually stand tho

i want to see if it goes soldier/police/soldier/police down the mall, cos when i was a copper i was given the delightful task of walking along the line (mall) and popping a polo into each soldiers mouth!! (in bearskin)

i want to see if they still do it lol!!

it was quite funny, they werent allowed to move or speak, but they just automatically opened their mouths for it

GypsyMoth · 19/04/2011 16:37

i kid you not!

My father used to be one of those Soldiers! Think we may just stick with a street party.

My husband has been invited to the Abbey [but not to the disco afterwards!!] but, sadly there was no "Plus One" for me . . . However, now that a couple of Ambassadors have been uninvited, there should be the odd spare seat around so maybe I could tag along after all. Only problem is that my 6-year old wants to go too and I don't think they'd let him sit on my lap!

I'm watching the real thing at my friends house - she's having a tea party tomorrow morning for us mums and kids so we can all watch it whilst drinking earl grey eating scones ... don't expect the kids will be watching it as they have a mahoosive great trampoline at the end of the garden!!

I'm off to "try" to get to the Mall, failing that it will be Hyde park.
