I just found one of the spambot's messages written in German on the Relationships board!

I would have a word with your database team. Technically it should be possible to do a scan and block for username =xyz across all boards / topics etc. Step one is to block them of course. I would also ask the tech team about adding blocks for links to other websites - basically when someone adds a link, the technology checks that it's not a link to a dodgy site - this isn't foolproof by any means but it's a start. Thirdly, I'd ask them to look for heuristic behaviour - plenty of database algorithms for this - which basically query a user who posts across many boards in quick succession or whose OP is a one line post and a web link. Again, not an exact science but it would flag all of the crap from tonight's scammer.
