Recommendations for a neat, easy-to-clean enclosed litter tray for a kitten

I got an absolutely adorable, playful and lovely kitten - but for some reason he is really messy with the litter tray, digging very energetically and throwing litter everywhere every time he is in it! I have bits of litter everywhere. I got a new deeper tray for him but its still not good enough, so I think I need to get an enclosed litter box.

My problem is that all the enclosed litter boxes I have seen are ugly, huge and clunky - anyone could recommend something that is not the size of a house, nice looking, and is easy to use/ to clean?

Thank you!

We’ve got a digger. We have a big corner tray from PAH with a removable “lip” that clips on and off. ( we use it on.) Underneath we have a honeycomb mat thing that catches litter. Neither is a magic bullet though and the dustpan and brush are beasts of burden! I looked at enclosed boxes and also a litter robot type self cleaning box, but I had a suspicion our boy would end up inadvertently hanging his bum over the edge.

Currently we also have my MiL’s cat who toileted 100% outdoors with her (she’s mid renovation) unless it was eg a storm or deep snow, and when we were keeping him in here he just got in the tray, did his business, and got out - no burying or digging, a totally silent operation. Our previous girl was similar but did at least bury her poo any time she was forced to use the tray!

This is what we have but I’m sure it was from PAH - I can’t see uncovered corner trays on there now though.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses Thank you! I got something similar at the moment but not a corner one - a deep tray with a "lip" - but its still not good enough! I have never seen anything like it - he is digging with all his four paws, very energetically, like his life is depended on it! Sometimes even growling while doing it ))

I still would like an enclosed box but worry he wont like it/ wont use it

Yes, ours does the same. Our previous girl didn't really bother with the tray after we started letting her out (although we always kept two in the house in case of emergencies) but this boy will come in to use it, have a good dig, then shout until someone comes to tidy up! He was a stray kitten and definitely likes his home comforts now he has them.

That’s exactly what I had. I really liked to Top entry boxes, but one or of mine didn’t get it.

I think they are all big and clunky unfortunately. I had one a while ago and they are also hard to clean because of the ledges, nooks and clips.

I have a digger and he has this tray which is simple, non clunky and easy to clean, and does contain the diggings fairly well. I still have to do some litter sweeping though.
