Sorry OP I'm going to disagree with you on two points. Firstly - you really don't have to flea treat cats monthly, we haven't treated any of ours for over six years and have had no sign of fleas at all. We've always treated as a cure rather than as a preventative.
Secondly - four is the best number of cats (not three). 😹

I'm mildly allergic to cats (as well as ironing) - they are still worth every snuffle sneeze & bunged up nose. Even when Girlcat manages to shed all over my face during cuddles (despite the hours and hours of brushing she gets).
