Best online spot-on worm and flea treatment for a slightly feral cat?

Following on from my post a while ago about the stray cat who now lives with us, I am pretty sure despite treating him for worms and fleas several times that he may still have worms. I have tried getting a tablet into him but he is pretty feral and hiding it in food is just not working, I know pills are more effective than spot in treatment but I just have no way of getting it into him (no one to help me and I am the only person who can get near him).

Am I better off getting something from the vets? I’m unsure what the recommendation is for the best worming and/or flea treatments at the moment. I have treated him for fleas and I haven’t seen any on him but I know if I ask the vert for worm treatment they will force me to buy flea treatment too.

I will eventually get him castrated but at the moment he is underweight and recovering from a leg injury. I want to get him healthier for before surgery.

At the moment he is eating loads (3-5 pouches of wet food and a small amount of dry each day) but not gaining weight, which is why I suspect he has worms.

which is the best treatment I can buy online? Ideally a spot on treatment.

I get a combined flea/wormer spot on treatment from the vet - nexgard combo

I get my spot on wormer and spot on flea from vet uk or pet drugs online as theyre cheaper, theyre good quality,they work and both websites are run by vets. I have the Dronspot wormer and Advantage flea. They aren't combined as the combined wormer and flea drops have to be vet prescribed and it only treats one type of worms. You'll need to be able to weigh the cat or youll have to have the smaller size drop ons. I have the spots ons as worming my cats was an ordeal for us all 😁 and i tried pancur but my cats can smell it a mile off.

I do need to register him with a vet but worried they will charge me a fortune for flea and worm treatment. Money is tight and we didn’t plan on having another cat (we lost ours almost 2 years ago and this one just appeared). I really want to get him looking healthier, he is underweight, he has a huge head, huge paws and a skinny body, so I am guessing he’s quite a bit under weight.
