Potassium supplement for a cat with CKD that isn’t liquid

my cat has stage 2 CKD and potassium levels worse than 6 months ago. I did try her with a liquid potassium initially which looked and smelled evil and she hated it! So I gave up. Now need to make a concerted effort into giving her some so is there one out there that isn’t a liquid and is palatable?

Hello - this is a new one on me! My boy had CKD and I tried every type of supplement on him but not potassium. From a quick Google it seems that most renal foods have added potassium so you may not need to add anything if your girl is happy eating that? Otherwise apparently there is a powder supplement called Tamil K which you add to food which might be more palatable? One thing stressed is to check with your vet as apparently raised potassium levels are very dangerous and it's easy to accidentally overdose your cat.

Is she on a renal diet food which usually have extra potassium, has the vet0 prescribed anything that can be crushed into her food

She has been on a renal diet for 6 months and her potassium has dropped so needs a supplement. Vet only suggested liquid which she really gets upset about. A powder would be a good shout but she is a wily old thing and gets so suspicious if I tamper with her food. She wasn’t nearly so bad before the renal diet!
