My poor girl might have glaucoma or a tumour 😔

Hello everyone, just back from a vet appointment with my 4.5yo little girl cat. I noticed that her eye looked a bit odd last night, she has very pale blue eyes and congenital nystagmus but there was some cloudiness and a broken capillary that definitely wasn’t normal for her. The vet examined her this evening and she’s bleeding behind her eyeball 😢 her intraocular pressure in that eye is very high (normal in the other eye) but her blood pressure is fine. Vet suspects glaucoma or a tumour, but she’s leaning more towards tumour because she’s young and her BP was normal 😞 we’ve been referred to an ophthalmology specialist vet on Thursday and have come home with some anti-inflammatory drops.

Anyone been there, done that and got a hopeful T-shirt for me? 😣

I have no experience with that specifically OP, but wanted to wish you all the best with her appointment, it’s not easy with a worry like that with our little furry ones. Hope the appointment goes well and there’s a better explanation for what is going on, let us know how it goes.

Thank you for the well wishes 🩷 we’ve just got back from the eye specialist and I’m very pleased to report that there is glaucoma and no tumour! £260 to discover that she has chronic dry eyes and that the bleeding our own vet thought she could see was just her normal blood vessels which are more visible under the lamp because she has such pale blue eyes 🙈

And of course I must pay the Cat Tax!

At least you can get her to wear a collar too (none of mine ever did apart from the third one briefly).
