Worried about cat not coming in and whether to leave litter tray out

Don't know why I'm posting here...but hubby away and cat (who has been coming in like a good boy so far) is out. I've been out 3 times calling, but don't feel able to keep calling all night as we have neighbours. I know it's hot. He's been in most of the day, but came out with me to water pots and hanging baskets about 7.00. So it's only been 4 hours, but I'm worried sick. He was mega sick last night and used his litter tray (which he rarely does). I'm so worried.

Is he home yet?

Dirty stop out turned up at 7.30 am. He did the same last night/this morning (but hubby home last night so I didn't worry quite so much). In this v hot weather I think this is his new pattern of life. Roll on autumn!

Our cat does the same - normally out from about 6.30-8/9pm and then comes in for the night when called (and happily so once the sun goes down).

But the longer nights and hot weather has meant he too is staying out all night and appearing at 7am shattered and then proceeds to sleep all day like a hungover student.

He’s been known to stay out all night on much colder nights but comes home in the morning suspiciously warm 🤨

It's definitely the hot weather. They are too hot to move around much in the day so they sleep, then in the evening it gets cooler and they're off.
