Putting food in the fridge?

Do you do this, if you feed pouches or tins? The instructions say to store it in the fridge but for some reason I can’t help but think my cat would prefer room temperature food like when it’s first opened!!

Crazy I know but I’m curious to know what people do with the remainder of a pouch if they don’t feed it all in one go.

Warm it for 7 seconds in the microwave before serving

I once opened a can of dog food around 5pm and forgot to put it in the fridge. When I remembered it the next morning there were maggots!! Can honestly say I never forgot again 🤢

Once it’s opened I keep it in the fridge then I pop it it the microwave for 8 seconds to take then chill
off when I serve the next portion

I give mine part of a pouch at a time - normally i use a clip to close the pouch and keep it fresh till later then leave on the side. There's not much direct sun on our utility room so it stays cool.
If we are having heat wave i will pop it in the fridge.

Follow the instructions on the os key which is typically once it’s opened must be refrigerated

We alternate between Sheba pouches and Untamed chicken tins day about. Sheba get clipped shut and left on the side, the tins go in the fridge.

We use the bozita tetra packs. Cat Beast has 1/3 am and 1/3 pm so a pack lasts 3 meals. Always in the fridge once opened and he eats it in about 5 seconds flat from the fridge so clearly doesn't bother him that it is cold.

I have this problem. My cat doesn’t like his food once it’s been in the fridge. To me, the idea of putting cat food in my microwave is 🤢 though!

@MidnightMeltdown I don’t like putting it in the microwave either. Another way to take the chill off is to pour a tablespoon or two of boiling water on it first and stir it a bit … makes a nice gravy also 😊

Never bothered, our kitchen isn’t particularly hot. Sachet that isn’t used up gets clipped, used to put a lid over small cans and leave on the side. Always been fine.

We use around a third of a tin at a time, to top dry food. It's never crossed mind to keep it in the fridge once opened. Ours just sits covered in the utility room. It's never smelt off and we've certainly never seen maggots.
