Do cats think humans (their big monkeys) have been out hunting for them when they get home?

Our cat obviously comes to greet us when we get home, all our cats have done this in the past too.

We naively thought it was out of affection but are now wondering if this because they think that the big mummy or monkeys (as we call ourselves in respect to the cat) has been out hunting and has come home with the kill?

She was disappointed today, we stopped off at the corner shop for some naughty snacks like Bounty and Frazzles.

Mine do. I go out and come back about an hour or two later with tins that I've hunted and carried home.

I don’t know what they think but they’re always interested in the shopping bags when I get home. To them, shopping equals treats.
One of our cats will rummage through the bags looking for the treats and always feel bad if I’ve forgotten to get some.

Dunno but mine are very efficient at filleting through the shopping bags to find the dreamies.

they can also hear a packet being opened at three miles and always come in the hope it is dreamies.

Mine won't eat until I get home its like they dont think food exists unless im around

I like to think so and always feed her or give her some dreamies when I come in. I am hoping that by seeing the excellent treats I am able to hunt and capture she won't think I need a dead mouse fetching!!

Haha - this made me chuckle! I like to think they do - or at least they miss us when we're away. Mine always runs up to greet me whenever i come through the door, been doing it since he was a kitten, and he's still my little kitty in my eyes xxx
