Just noticed this on my cats leg- Raised and Sore

Hi All,

My cat has been licking his leg noticeably over the last couple of days and today I have noticed a really raised and red patch on his leg- he is licking and pulling at this fur there too.

I have booked the vet for tomorrow but wondered if anyone had any ideas in the meantime?

He is an outdoor cat and has form for fighting ( had an infected cut last year) - is fine in himself and eating etc

Possibly an abscess forming then, if another cat has bitten him. Or it could be something like an embedded thorn or similar that he's got stuck in there. The vet will have a good look and check it out.

Keep him in overnight so he doesn't do a runner before the appointment tomorrow!
Have you still got the collar from last time to stop him licking and making it worse? The picture isn't great, but may be worth not giving him breakfast incase they need to sedate to clean/treat too.
