What treats do your cats love?

Just that really! Mine loves all flavours of Dreamiea (and own brand versions that are clearly basically the same thing)

And any and all of those tubes of disgusting meat paste you squeeze into their mouths!

But she is indifferent to all the other treats I have bought her, and as variety is the spice of life, I wondered if any of you could recommend anything your cats really go for?

She is an indoor cat, and to keep her mentally stimulated I use various types of toy in which you hide treats and the cat has to sort of "work" to find them. She's fine with the Dreamiea to be honest, but I just think it would be fun to find some other things she would really enjoy.

(Not too worried about calories - she was very under weight when I got her and still very slightly under, though definitely going in the right direction!)

Licki-licks - untamed do a version that she loves the most and those stick treats- she enjoys throwing them around and chasing them, I often throw them for her to fetch! We do have a large puzzle feeder thing that I just put some of her dry food in for her to find, which she also likes

Theunamedcat · 12/02/2026 15:36

Freeze dried chicken

LadyDanburysHat · 12/02/2026 15:40

Lik-e-lix, felix goody bags, those little chewy sticks, all dreamies

Ilovelurchers · 12/02/2026 16:30

Thank you guys! Haven't tried her with the stick things - that's a good idea!

Mine don't like Dreamies at all, but they absolutely love Aldis Bella range, especially the catnip and salmon ones! Sabre the boy loves Webbox treat sticks in any flavour, but especially the salami ones that only appear round Christmas! His sister Suki doesn't like the sticks at all, but is mad for the seafood Crispies by Felix! I have a selection of all!

I haven't heard of the Crispies - I will definitely try these!

Cheese, Lik-e-liks, 'Dreamies' (own brand).

catera · 12/02/2026 17:40

Bonkers purr pops (Aldi or Amazon), meat sticks (Aldi), lick e lix (no other brand will do) and some random dog treats from b&m Confused

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/02/2026 17:45

Sybil would kill for lick-e-lix. She gets one at breakfast time each morning and yells at me until she gets it delivered. I squeeze it onto a plate for her because she's far too refined to eat it directly from the plastic wrapper. 🤣
3 out of our 4 love dreamies.

NewYearNewMee · 12/02/2026 17:47

Mine love the little fish fillets you can get from the pet shops (fresh ish ones not freeze dried) and also tinned fish like salmon or mackerels in water. They love the soft sticks too!

shellyleppard · 12/02/2026 17:48

Mine go mad for cheese dreamies. My boy will appear at 11 am and demand his snacks ... the other two don't bother so much 😞

I haven't heard of the Crispies - I will definitely try these!

Sadly they only do two flavours, the fish ones and beef/chicken. But it's cute to hear them crunching them!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/02/2026 18:53

Louie likes all treats but we don’t often give him the chewy stick things because he tends to wolf them down and then immediately puke them up. His absolute favourites are the freeze dried chicken things, either the lollipops or the little individual ones, and he gets a “chicken yoghurt” most days (Lick-e-lix, won’t touch the Untamed ones).

Allergictoironing · 12/02/2026 19:15

Churu Pops are a favorite with mine. Packaging looks like a typical cat yoghurt like Lik E Lix but comes out like a sort of firm jelly. Churu (aka Inaba) also do a version of Lik E Lix that's a bit cheaper and comes in a myriad of flavours plus various "specialist" ones like anti hairball.

Tobias is a bit weird and rarely eats Dreamies, but otherwise they like all the usual Webbox Sticks, freeze dried chicken etc. Girlcat has also recently discovered Smilla Ringlies - the duck flavoured one.

Asterales · 12/02/2026 19:17

Primula cheese in a tube!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/02/2026 19:27

Thinking about it Sybil also really enjoys cleaning up after our breakfast every morning, shredded wheat and porridge. I suppose those could be regarded as treats for her too.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 12/02/2026 19:29

Dreamies, Lick E Lix and cheese.

chocciechocface · 12/02/2026 20:00

Cosma snackies - cubes of freeze dried fish, chicken etc. No junk. Cats go totally bonkers for them.

Wakemeupinapril · 12/02/2026 20:02

Packet treats are beneath my boy. It's home cooked chilli con carne or butter chicken with rice. Along side his vegetables of course..

He currently weighs over 5kg...

dementedpixie · 12/02/2026 20:04

@chocciechocface I used to buy cosma snackies but there was always a lot of dust and tiny pieces left in the tub. I get these chicken treats from amazon and they have bigger chunks and less waste

NamingNoNames · 12/02/2026 20:04

DCat also likes pastry.

dementedpixie · 12/02/2026 20:06

When we feed the webbox sticks we pick sections off and throw across the floor to make the cats work for their treats

SpookedMackerel · 12/02/2026 20:34

Ours doesn’t like dreamies, but quite enjoys Felix crispies or goodie bags.
The Lix e lix and Web Box sticks got used once too often to disguise meds, and are now treated with suspicion.

Human food is preferred - I give out little bites whenever I make sandwiches, and occasional scraps of the most sought after treat of all, which is hot toast with butter - this means DCat comes barrelling into the kitchen at the faintest whiff of the bread bin being opened.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 12/02/2026 20:39

Thank God our girl likes Lik-e-lix as she's on daily Metacam at the moment and it makes it very easy to get it into her. Has to be supervised though in case her brother or the Interloper (next door's cat) decide to wade in.

foghornleghornsbiggestfan · 12/02/2026 20:47

My little fella loves “fishies”, fish-shaped biscuit things, I have no idea what the official name is. From B&M in a pink box with Garfield on it around 69p. They do a few other flavours but the pink box is salmon and he would eat the whole lot in one go if he got a chance. I learnt to keep them in an airtight box after finding the empty packet when he’d finished the whole box when he had managed to open the sandwich bag I’d been keeping it in!
