Anyone any experience of older, hyperthyroid cat having a seizure?

He is 18 years old, been on thyronorm for a few years. Recent bloods showed some kidney disease but they said not to change thyronorm dosage. What should we be doing? He is on some renal friendly cat food.

What sort of seizures? Petit mal?

What does the vet say? We were advised to put to sleep when ours had a second seizure. She was in a bad way though.

It lasted about a minute and he was a bit disorientated but is back to normal now, eating and going out. I phoned vet but as he gets stressed at going in it puts him at risk of another seizure.

Yup, multiple of them over his last years.

When they fall over, wrap in a damp towel to cool them down till they come round then keep an eye till they are irritating again

they will get more frequent due to the strain on other organs till the day comes
but it could be years
