Putting a cat flap in an awkward UPVC door. How?

The back door of our new house has a 'domed' feature (its meant to be like this, not a fault) ie the square in the centre sticks out both sides

I can't see how a cat flap can be fitted as its not flat. Anyone know how to do this?

Easiest option is to have a new flat panel cut to fit and get them to do the cat flap hole at the same time. Keep the existing panel safe to replace if/when you move.

I had the above solution done and the flat panel cost a very trivial sum - well under £100. The local firm that supplied it also cut out for and fitted the cat flap.

DH (despite not being particularly DIY-inclined) was able to cut away the moulding and fit the flap on our bumpy door. It was trial & error, but looked fine once mastic was applied & worked well.
In our case we knew we were replacing the door in the next 12 months or so (project house) so didn't want to spend any money on it.

These comments are more hopeful than I imagined they'd be 😊

We got a company to fit our flap. took them about 15 mins and was £120. They did an excellent job. Its in the middle of lots of bumps...

We got a local window fitting firm to do it, dropped the cat flap to them and they fitted it into the new panel and then came round and fitted the door. Didn’t cost much. Cat has now died….i need to do the same in reverse.
