My cat has a very runny tummy - any advice, please?

She is 18, eating well and seems fine in herself. Has been treated for fleas and worms. But she has had diarrhoea on and off for a couple of weeks. She then paddles in it and has to be cleaned, floors need disinfecting etc. As you will no doubt know, it’s awful!
Any advice gratefully received please.

thecatneuterer an excellent poster recommended royal canin hairball to cope with this
Cost a fortune does seem to sort things

Thank you both. I'm keeping an eye on her, it doesn't seem to be bothering her but if I get those products I can keep them in just in case. It's bothering me!! 🤢

I second the pro Kolin paste it usually works within a couple of days and firms up their poo.

My cat ( 15 now ) has always had a sensitive tum so the runs have been an on and off occurrence. I use Forti Flora feline probiotic on her food during a diarrhoea occurrence - it's a powder you sprinkle. It comes in sachets and is sold online at places like Amazon & Zooplus ) and that helps to firm things up. See here:

Currently she is getting over a second attack of Giardia so is on the fortiflora + Royal Canin Gastrointestinal which usually gets things back to normal, although it's slower this time I admit.

If the diarrhoea is very yellowy, smelly & watery it may be worth getting a faecal test at the vet to make sure it's not giardia. ( Sorry for the tmi - but I am becoming an expert in cat poo!)

Forti flora and pro kolin get my vote. If it doesn’t stop within the next few days I would seek advise from
your vets. It is horrible I foster and seem to always get ones with the upset bellies 😆
