Toys for a kitty who doesn't know how to play....

DD and I have just become the proud owners of the most beautiful little kitty cat, who was found abandoned in a rental property when the owners left, and quite possibly has spent most of her short life locked in a garage (it was a bit of an animal-hoardinf situation, from what we can tell).

Don't know her age until we get her to a vets for a best estimate, but she seems very young. It was all a bit sudden so I only had the chance to pick up a few basic toys from Poundland/B and M, plus my lovely exH (who has more or less a cat colony!) donated some simple ones he thought she would love - but she has so far shown no interest in any, and seems to have zero chase instinct, bless her....

Has anybody got any links or recommendations for toys your cats absolutely love! I would like to try her with good quality cat-nip ones especially if I can source some - she has utterly ignored the Poundland catnip balls I got her, but also not sure they smell of anything much....)

Would be so grateful - she is the most friendly and warm hearted little cat, but I would just love to see her playful side! (If the poor little mite still has one.....)

@tragichero great news. But you still have not paid the kitty photo tax, and now we want a photo of her with her banana

You can buy catnip spray, to spray onto toys, cardboard etc. The you'll find out if she likes it. Ours does, sometimes..... and we therefore don't need to buy special catnip toys.
Also foil balls, things like pens to knock off tables, large amazon package with some toys inside, random dead leaves. No need to buy much!

My little one has come on in leaps and bounds recently. I bought her this a couple of weeks ago and it entertains her for ages. She’s not too bothered by the feather but the other part of the toy she absolutely loves Invisible mouse

Now if someone could recommend a food she’ll eat for more than one meal I’d be eternally grateful!

String and ping pong balls - no cat I have ever met has resisted a bit of string. My parents old cat wouldn’t play with any of the fancy toys but a bi of string - he was the happiest!
