If you had a flea infestation in your home...

...did you see fleas? My cat has been very itchy for the last few weeks. Gave her her Bravecto spot on mid August but that didn't improve. I took her to the vet this week end who said it's a flea allergy and she is recatching fleas in our house. The thing is, I have never seen fleas on her or anywhere in the house and none of us has had flea bites even though the cat frequently sleeps in our beds or on the sofa. So I don't completely believe we have a flea infestation in the house. Shouldn't we be seeing fleas or getting bitten?

I grew up in flea infested homes & saw lots then, I was bitten many times daily & used to catch & drown them. We had white cats so very obvious on the cats.

Nowadays in England when the cats have had fleas I usually see relatively few, but we do see them, most of all on the cats or jumping on me from their sleeping areas. Also have managed to find larvae or flea dirt on the cats.

Am not sure of status at moment...
