What might my cat have done to her paw?

I got home from work yesterday to find her limping a little. No obvious thorn or burr, so I popped her down to the vet to have a look. Vet shaved the paw to discover it is extremely bruised. No significant other injuries, but some recent little scratches to her neck and chin.

I don't know how she did it. Vet wondered if one of us had trodden on her, but no one has. She is quite timid of strangers and unlikely to have gotten under someone's feet outside the house.

Any theories?

jumped down from somewhere high and landed awkwardly?
Maybe caught her paw under a door by accident as it was opened or shut?

Jumped on a wobbly pile of wood or bricks and one of them fell on her paw?

Might be worth asking around in case there’s a neighbourhood dog that’s suddenly got a fat lip

Yes, perhaps a jump gone wrong. Poor girl.
She is much better today and very cross about the anti-inflammatory medicine I put in her dinner.
