I think it’s my cat’s last day 😢

My lovely 16 year old boy has just stopped eating completely, stopped coming for cuddles and is just sitting staring into space. He’s had kidney disease for the last four years so I’ve known he’s been on borrowed time really, but this seems to have come out of the blue and is a complete change of character in the last 48 hours. We’ve got a vet appointment in a couple of hours and I’m just dreading it.

Poor you. You’ve given him a wonderful life and can hold onto that. Is the vet coming to the house?

The grief we feel when our pet passes over is the price we pay for receiving all their love and affection over the years. All we can do is make sure they don't suffer and give lots of cuddles and slightly warm tuna which has a strong smell, on their final day. You could take a paw print before they go to vets.

We had to say farewell to our old girl as well today. She was 19 and on thyroid meds for a few years.
It was time. Sending hugs.

@NeedMoreTea it’s so hard isn’t it. I am in pieces even though I know we did the right thing. I hope you are ok today, from experience it does get easier.
