Pregnant foster cat…hopefully some kittens today

I’ve have the most beautiful pregnant foster cat so going to end up as a failed foster cat for about 4 weeks now and I honestly thought she’d had given birth by now.

It seems we might have some action today - it looks like she’s chosen her birthing box (several dotted around the house) and every time she comes out of her box for affection bites me, she hasn’t eaten since yesterday food has been left untouched, she’s grooming like crazy and making some weird old noises.

I don’t know why I’m so nervous this isn’t my first rodeo so to speak maybe because I am planning on keeping her (she will be spayed as soon as possible once these kitten are here)

Not sure why I’m posting really either maybe just some moral support as my husband and teens have gone out for the day, so it just me her and one of the dogs who she seems to want in the same room, meows and follows him whenever he goes to the other room 🤷‍♀️ (other dog is out with husband and kids)

Thanks for your update. Poor Mia and her kittens. Such a worryingly difficult time for you as well. Really hope Mia is now on the mend and gaining her strength back. Kittens are adorable.

Five out of six and a live mother cat is a tribute to your care, I'd say. I'm a cat fosterer too and it's heart-rending when you lose one (has happened to us twice) but I'm wishing Mia all the best.

Poor Mia. Well done op, it sounds like without your care those kittens wouldn't have lived and mama cat would have suffered even more.

They are adorable, we’ve struggled a bit with milk and feeding, but I think we’ve cracked it now and all of the kittens are gaining between 10-15g per day, apart from the tiny one, I am still supplementing with extra feeds as they didn’t seem to be gaining enough weight.

I am very grateful indeed that both Mia and the kittens survived, it’s been a rough time and I don’t think I will be doing this again until next time I get asked

Thank you for update, sad one didn't survive however you do now have 5 kittens to look after.

We kept a tiny one too. Two years later she is 3kg of brown tabby cheekiness and she rules the roost.

All 5 of them - the one next to the blackish one and the calico one is the one I am giving extra kitten milk to
