Are your cats moulting loads at the moment?

Mine are, and it's driving me mad. There are clumps of their hair everywhere. But I just read up on it and apparently they moult in the spring, and other health issues can cause this. (I think it's just one of my 3 cats as it's mostly white hair and the others have no white on them).

If so, do you have any tips for getting rid of it? I'm having to hoover daily.

Yes, my ginger Tom is wafting clouds of hair everywhere he goes. Picking him up is a health hazard, you end up felted!

Yeah, I'm brushing my long hair one most nights and seem to get a whole cats worth of hair each time! I'm assuming it's just because so hot

My ginger and white boy is losing loads atm. He's never done this before and I just put it dowe to age as he's 18.

I'm cleaning up handfuls of fur with a damp cloth every day.

Oh god yes - and they’re all different colours so the fur is just obvious no matter what I do 😩

I brush them all most days but it doesn’t seem to make the slightest bit of difference!

Yes! And I have a golden retriever who is massively shedding as well. My white sheets have a layer of tabby cat fur straight after changing them.

I’ve never known madam Penelope she’d so much. She’ll be bald if it carries on!

I don't remember such a large degree of moulting in previous years! And we've had a fur ball vomit situation today too. So that's good.

Both of mine are, though thankfully Tobias seems to have slowed down just a tiny bit - I can stroke him down the back now & only get half a handful of hairs rather than a full handful.

With Girlcat it's all under coat, clouds and clouds of silvery floof from a black short haired cat. She's never been like this before.

I have an entire new carpet (of cat hair) on the upstairs hall floor & the stairs now. Ah well, should save wear and tear on the fitted one!

I took mine to the vet last week for her vaccinations, she left a pile of hair on the vet’s table after just a few minutes. The vet said they’re all moulting loads at the moment. As soon as I vacuum she’s leaving new little patches of moulted hair around. Good job she’s cute!

I’ve never known pen shed so much, on the other hand it’s not been so consistently warm for such a long time for years.
