GRAPHIC PHOTO: AIBU to ask your advice about my cat’s sick?

Hi all

A really gross one - sorry!

Could anyone help me decide if this cat sick is normal? It looks a bit like a poo and seems to have one or two woodlouse type creatures in it! My cat is very active - often outside and is a bit of a hunter. He would certainly eat a woodlouse given the chance I think. There is also hair in there, so not sure how worried I need to be about this?

Thanks to any cat lovers out there who could advise.

Can't see picture but from your description it sounds pretty normal. Ate something that disagrees with him, had some furball, threw it up.

When you have to worry is when it's clear, and obvious that nothing is in it and there was nothing for the cat to "throw up" but they did anyway (especially repeatedly). Or blood or man-made foreign objects of course.

If course that's just my thoughts without seeing the picture, so can't say my opinion is firm!

Thank you! That’s helpful.

It sounds like a furball mixed with other things he’s eaten. Mine have been doing this in the last few weeks… they’re malting. I’d say pretty normal, don’t worry!

Having seen the picture, I’d defo say furball. Cats are gross 😂 (I have 6 of them!)

BreadandButterscotch · 16/05/2025 07:37

Oh thank you! (I was actually wondering if there could be a bit of frog mixed in, as he often catches them!)

Yes, definitely a hairball!

The bit to the right does look a bit reptilian ...( yes I know frogs are amphibinians but it looks scaley ) but yy looks very hairball-esque

Better out than in though , I think frogs skin has something unpleasant tasting on it . Never licked one myself though, just FTR !
