Cats are being stubborn this morning (builders are in).

I've had builders in for the past 3 weeks, it means there has been a constant stream of random men coming and going as they wish. There's no knocking, they literally just walk in after I've let the ones in who are actually doing my flat (I've had 3 so far this morning, granted one was one of the guys who had been working on my flat).

I've kept the cats shut in one room but today they're both being stubborn (and stupid) and hiding behind the sofa, next to each other. Thankfully it's only two decorators here so it's reasonably quiet apart from their hoover/sander and they know they're there.

They won't come out, they just won't budge. I'm worried that it's going to traumatise them, that when they get let out they'll do a disappearing act. I can't go through that again, it was the worst time of my life not knowing where the cat was(almost 6 weeks she was gone for). I check them almost every 30 minutes and will try and move them at lunchtime or when they go for a tea break (if they go for one as they don't normally) but it was a struggle to put them in my study yesterday and today I think they've just had enough.

Why are cats so bloody stubborn?

Because they want to be. And they know we will still pander to their every need.

They’ll be fine. You might want to give them a few extra treats, but they will quickly forget about it.

Dreamies. They need Dreamies. And possibly some chicken.

Thanks, I think I've bought most of the Dreamies from my local CoOp these past 3 weeks. They came out at lunchtime but refused to come and sit with me, usually they refuse to leave me alone when I'm working 🤦‍♀️😂.

I want to go out but don't want to leave the decorators the responsibility of keeping an eye on them.

Although just walked in to the sitting room and one cat is just casually sat on the arm of the sofa. Watching him paint.

I'm having a plumber doing work on Monday for a couple of hours and then electricians for a few days in the middle of April. I'm dreading it because Haribo will be freaked out. He's petrified of the doorbell ringing let alone strange people being in the house. He looks at my neighbour with suspicion and fear even though he's either in her garden or sneaking in her house to steal her cat's food!”
