Injured cat… how can I stop her scratching her wound?

My beautiful cats have had a falling out and unfortunately one has a nasty puncture wound on her neck. My vet has been brilliant and have prescribed antibiotics, hibiscrub and pain relief. However, they have not covered the area or given her a collar to stop her scratching. I’m very worried that she will scratch it and make it worse, although I don’t think she can reach it to lick it. I will of course keep my cats separate for the foreseeable future. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

One of those soft, puffy collars that make the cat look like a sunflower? Think you can buy from Amazon x

My cat got a would on his cheek from another cat but I didn’t realise until it got infected. I got him antibiotics but the vet didn’t say anything about him protecting it and I never saw him scratch it or anything. Maybe your won’t either.

Thanks for the advice guys, but after I saw her attempt to scratch it twice, I emailed my vet and they have now put a big wound dressing on it. My cat is not very happy but I am much more confident that she can’t reach it now and hopefully it will heal quickly. Thanks again
