Has anyone bought Cat's Best litter recently? Or any alternative recommendations?

I've used Cat's Best for ages but the last bag I bought, around November, didn't clump properly. Instead it broke apart into lots of tiny clumps that I couldn't scoop. Looking at reviews it seems a lot of people have had this issue too and I'm wondering if they've sorted it yet.

I bought Tigerino 'milky scent' tofu litter in the meantime which seemed great at first, no tracking and perfect clumps, but two days later his box reeks of pee despite me scooping twice a day. The milky scent isn't great as it is but with the pee smell on top it's a really nauseating combination. I think there's a reason most tofu litters are scented!

I've never smelt pee while using the Cat's Best litter but the tracking is horrendous, so any alternative recommendations would be gratefully received! I've been considering their smart pellets litter but some people are reporting the same clumping issues. I've also read very mixed things about the tracking.

I use the smart pellets as the regular cats best gets stuck in my long haired cats ‘pants’ and I’m a fan. Recently started on a new bag (bought from Zooplus) and haven’t noticed any issues with clumping.

It doesn’t track anywhere near as much as the regular cats best, it’s more similar to wood pellet litter but without the whole turning into sawdust thing. Some of it will escape the tray, but it’s the odd, intact pellet rather than lots of little flaky bits so I find it far more manageable!

Excellent, thank you, I will try the smart pellets. My cat is short haired but has rather fluffy pantaloons which he somehow manages to get covered in litter so that’s good to know too.

Walked into the bathroom this morning and it smells of urine even though nothing was done in the box overnight! 😾

I use Greenwood’s. Clumping is excellent. Odour control is excellent. It has a lovely natural oaty scent when fresh. But the downside is it does track - though with a litter mat it is manageable.

We use 'ever clean' (I call it never clean as we have 3 cats haha)
Pricey but great clumping and not dusty so you don't waste much

We have three cats and use Sanicat Active White. It clumps so tightly (like concrete!) so there is no residue left in the tray after scooping. The tracking is a nightmare but I would prefer to have to sweep the bathroom floor twice a day if the tradeoff is fresh-smelling trays!

Scooped and topped up religiously morning and night (with some ad hoc scooping if I happen to see anything in there when I go into the bathroom as one of my cats doesn’t like covering her poo) and we can go a week between full tray changes with no smells in between.

I use intersand classic.

We've tried so many litters over the years at most price points and of most types. Sometimes quality of a previously really good one does drop. I think the smart pellets are no longer as good as they used to be. I don't think there is such a thing as the perfect litter but we've settled on Biokat Micro Classic (or Fresh if a light floral scent suits). It seems to do better than most on odour control, clumping, tracking and paw comfort. We get it delivered from Zooplus but other places might sell it too.

Van cat litter as recommended on here a while back. You put a big thick layer of the litter in the tray and it clumps brilliantly and you never have to do a full tray change as nothing ever hits the tray.
