My poor boy died suddenly last night

I don't know WTF happened, I'm still in shock. He ate his dinner and cuddled up with me on the sofa all evening. At 4.30am I heard him use the litter tray but followed by a crash and a howl. Found him collapsed on the bathroom floor, his pupils were huge and he was gasping for breath. The 2 other cats came in so I shooed them away, a minute later he wasn't breathing 😞 I can't believe it, he was only 8.

He actually had his favourite dinner last night, that stinky Lidl pate stuff, he scoffed the lot so at least I know he had a good last supper 😻

I’m so sorry. He looks like the most gorgeous boy. I hope it’s some comfort that he had a lovely last evening with you and it sounds like he went very suddenly in his own home. Their absence feels so big and so sad doesn’t it.

Poor baby, my heart goes out to you. Honestly they can go in the blink of an eye, that’s why we have to love every minute they give us. Xxxx

I am so so sorry. I too would be devastated if it was one of mine. He was a beauty. I bet so traumatic for you as well. RIP sweet boy.

I often feel I'm lucky to have my cats in my life and I don't deserve them. I kiss their little heads every day and tell them how much I love them 😻

am so sorry, what a handsome and distinguished boy.

I know it’s really hard, but try not to feel guilty. You hadn’t ignored symptoms etc, he had a sudden onset situation that you couldn’t have foreseen.

It will take quite a lot of time to process, but he was obviously loved and had the best life he could have had during his time. You were the reason he had that wonderful time here.

I think the shock and now grief will obviously hit you hard. Keep posting here, there are so many who will understand how you’re feeling. There really aren’t any words to make you feel better, but there are plenty of people who will have been through similar feelings.

He knew he was loved 💕

@PollyCreo sorry for delayed reply , had a family “big birthday “ this weekend so first chance to check the thread .
Just thought there might have been an outside chance of poisoning , relieved to hear it wasn’t , but of course it doesn’t make your loss any less traumatic .

I'm so sorry. My cat collapsed and died at our feet with no warning and he was 8. He was looking forward to his breakfast and gave a little cough and that was it so I completely understand how heart wrenching this must be for you. X
