Apparently there are 2 weirdoes in my bit of East London. Took Minouche to the vet, booked in (as you do) and the receptionist called her Minou. The vet came out and called "Minou Kittens@36." Bristled slightly at her being called by the masculine of her name (Minou is one French word for cat - un minou. But if you're talking to a female cat, it's une minouche)
When the vet called her that again, I said that she's actually Minouche and could we tweak her records please?
Then the vet weighed her (like weighing an eel with St Vitus's dance) and said "so she had her bloods done recently......? " Er no, she hasn't been in since her jabs last June. "What's your postcode, Mrs Kittens?" Told her. "Well that's good, because that means that I am not looking at the right cat's records and your cat has not lost a kilo in 2 weeks.
But....
There's another black cat belonging to someone with my surname, with a very similar name , living in East London.
What are the chances of that?
