The cats are happier with you working part time

I left a very demanding full time job at the end of last year and moved into part time work with less responsibility due to burn out.
DH were discussing how life was better since I had stopped working full time and whilst there are many benefits one of his big ones was the cats were happier. In particular two sisters who came to us as they were abandoned as 7 week old kittens and then in their first few weeks with us we had a burst pipe and had to have industrial fabs and dehumidifiers.
How have you changed your life to improve the lives if your cats?

Not a change really, but I always encourage DP to WFH if I am in the office so the cat has someone to give him lunch!

We fell into giving our previous cat four small meals (the same amount of food just split) during lockdown when she would be furious we were having lunch and she wasn’t, and kept that up with our new boy when she was pts last year. If he gets his full day rations at breakfast he still thinks he should get lunch at 5 if no-one’s been home in the day. We do have a timed feeder but he doesn’t like it.

Yeah, my cats and dogs have both been delighted to have me home more often since I went PT. Husband WFH so it's not like they're ever on their own, but he's usually concentrating so can't give them the enormous amount of attention they clearly deserve 🙃

Mine have been happier since we both went self-employed so are around more during the day. Don't get me wrong, they're absolutely fine on their own too but they definitely enjoy the cuddles and extra treats that happen when we're in the house 🤣

I work hybrid and it's lovely having the extra cat time on my home days. Even if I do at times have to close the door on them during my more formal meetings.
