The handhold I never wanted to need

Lost my beautiful ginger menace. Can't find him anywhere. 12h gone now, he followed me out the house when I went to work. Nobody has seen him and he hasn't been on the door camera all day.

Crying my eyes out. He's only 18m old.

Handhold please?

I'm also an owner of a huge ginger fluff ball Maine coon boy. I'm so glad you have your precious boy home 🥰

Really pleased to read the outcome after reading your thread last night!
Not surprised that you thought he might have been catnapped as he is so gorgeous!

Heronatemygoldfish · 23/01/2025 09:38

He went out this morning like the proverbial rocket after being grounded for 24h. All the cats were howling because I'd locked the flap. He's back in though... :) One tractive tracker is about to be ordered...

Aw so glad he's home x

If you do get a tractive, pm me and I'll send you a referral code for 30% off. It adds a couple free months to my subscription

Wish I'd read that before I'd ordered it! I ordered yesterday morning and so it's now here and on. Of course he doesn't want to go out. Not that I would in this wind...

Ah well, worth a go! Fast delivery

Heronatemygoldfish · 24/01/2025 14:19

I am tempted to start a new thread on cat tracking and post what he gets up to!

I would read that and I am sure it would be hilarious! Do any cat trackers have little videos on them so we can see what they are doing too?

Sadly it seems to be you buy either a tracker or a camera unless you've got it on a tiger as both are fairly bulky.

I've been threatening to get a tracker for years as the tuxedo moggy is a terror for disappearing over the back fence... though I suspect he'd try and take my arm off if I tried to put it on him.

Yes please! I'm always curious as to what these little fluffballs get up to. My rescue used to sometimes come back smelling of old lady hand lotion 😂

Heronatemygoldfish · 26/01/2025 13:50

Well I have a word of warning for would-be trackers. One they use far more battery than they say (7 days? Ha! More like 2) and two, your pet WILL go somewhere that will horrify you!

Ooops forgot to add pic of Mr Not-in-the-least Repentant!

What a beauty! I can see why you were worried he may have been catnapped!
Grounded for as long as possible!
Have you considered a tracker on a collar? (That may well have been suggested as I haven't read the whole thread yet)

My little one goes round the neighbours to watch TV. Actually I've got to stop calling her the little one, she's bigger than senior girl now. She also crosses the main road through the village, which I don't love, but she's a rescue who's been out since she was tiny and she's extremely savvy. She definitely knows cars are dangerous - if a car in motion gets anywhere near her she runs in the opposite direction. She has to be out though, she's incredibly high-energy and if she was confined would just harrass her sister (and me) all day. When I first got her and had to keep her in for 3 weeks she was quite literally banging on the windows. When suitably exercised, she's very sweet and cuddly, but she cannot be an indoor cat. She'd be miserable. Senior girl was an indoor cat when we lived in the city, but this one is quite different. Toys are great but no substitute for climbing trees and zooming along fence posts. When it rains all day she's really hard work, and it has to be torrential to stop her going out.
