New member of the family

Hi we are picking up a new cat/ kitten next week, almost 7 months old and being rehomed.. she was very timid and nervous when we visited her. What do we need to do to make her feel comfortable etc. Coming from a quiet home to our quietish home ( no other pets or children) ❤️

She's need somewhere quiet to feel safe, if she's coming in a carrier keep the door open with a blanket in it. You can put her food and water bowl nearby they usually prefer the litter tray away from food. She may hide for a few days but some cats start exploring as soon as they're home. Have you got a quiet room she can have until she settles in. A cardboard box with a blanket makes a good bed, don't Worry if she's a bit shy for a while.

Also, give her time to adjust and let her hear your voice.

Also don’t put the food and water right beside each other - they like those separate too.
