If you have a MicroChip catdoor , how do you stop your cats from sitting by the door and activating the sensor ?

It is locked at night so they cannot get out , but they will sit there and "Click Click Click" at the lock with their "Magic Necks" (microchip)

We have to remedy this by putting a hefty great shredder in front of the door . Anything light they knock it out of the way .

Then the battery gets worn down because they've over used them.

Not possible to lock them away from the door due to layout ,.CatDoor is set into the glass French Door

Why stop them going out?
I took the batteries out in the end as they ran down so quickly. My cats come and go as they please - I lock them downstairs at night as I don't like 5am wake ups and it hasn't been an issue (I live in a London terrace).
Surely if it's locked then the cats shouldn't be able to activate it?

They need to be in at night .
They cannot open it but they sit there making the lock go Click .
