Happy New Year to all the cats and their humans and welcome to the new cats!

It's good to hear that I wasn't the only one who couldn't be bothered with NYE and went to bed to watch stuff on my laptop to escape the noise of the letterbox banging in the wind. There was strangely a firework display at 10:30, I think at the local cricket club. I can't imagine that their were many takers in the howling wind. Luckily Matilda and Boris weren't bothered. Things exploding in the sky = minor ear twitch, me wearing flipflops = terrifying.

Poor little Elton got stuck in the bathroom again. He noses the door open to have a kip by the towel rail and can't get out again due to the paw situation. It's a classic case of the cat who cried wolf though. Because he is currently yowling at random moments through the night to announce the wind / foxes / done a poo we have learnt to sleep through most of it - so when he really wants help we accidentally ignore him. He's not impressed today 😕

Poor Elton!

A neighbour popped round earlier. Kitty captivated her with her trick of standing up for Dreamies & taking them from neighbour’s fingers, which then led to her getting more Dreamies so she could keep showing off.

Frankfurter says "here's to a much better 2025 Kettle". Obviously his new year wishes extend to all the humans and cats on this thread but he only had a tiny brain so couldn't remember all the names.

There has been another murder attempt: Four was gambolling playfully on the edge of the balcony when Two pounced and tried to push Four off.

EmpressaurusKitty: She’ll be back tonight. The vet airily spoke of not letting her climb or jump for 5 days. Sometimes I think vets have never owned a cat in their life.

I hope she doesn’t resent us too much. Cat One takes a couple of hours to come round after a vet visit: Cat Three takes a day and a half.

It’s more than an hour later and Cat Three has just now stopped crying. He has been carrying around his Stick Of Sadness and resisting all entreaties. Finally jumped onto the bed and is going to sleep.
