I have had no electricity since 11.30 this morning. There are currently men outside digging up the pavement to replace some piece of wire in order for me to have power again. Vixen is not impressed with how cold it is as we don't have the blanket turned on.

Oh no! Poor you and poor Vixen and the rest of the cats, it's cold today. I bought one of the heated blankets after seeing your melted cat photos on here. It's so warm, I love it. Fingers crossed the workmen get it sorted so Vixen can get her blanket nice and warm again.

@HumanToCatBeasties that's it, just rub it in that you're warm while we're sitting here freezing! 😁

To be fair I only have one radiator downstairs at the moment after having some renovations done on the house and the house is freezing at the best of times, but I admit it's still a lot better than no heating. Could you bribe all your cats to sit on you with some carefully placed dreamies. That many cats should provide some warmth.

We've got an oil filled radiator on in the living room providing heat at the moment.
Mrs G is also being kept warm by Basil and Sybil.

We’re in a well insulated flat in the middle of a new build block so don’t need the heating on that much. Half the time when it comes on it’s because Kitty’s out on the balcony so the back door’s open.

Mrs G looks extremely comfortable there. I'm quite jealous my two tolerate each other, but don't like sleeping too close, so it's very rare that I get them both sleeping on me.

I’ve had both cats on my lap for a cuddle just now vying for prime position and trying to sneakily edge each other out. They have really changed their behaviour around me since their spaying operation.

Stripey is an all or nothing cat who doesn’t do things by halves. Now that she has suddenly decided we are best friends she has made pulls in 2 pairs of trousers and a jumper with her intense kneading and licked my hand so hard that it feels a bit raw!

You lot are not helping! I am very jealous. Vixen was curled up next to me under the blanket but then Toad and Lexter started shouting at me for food so I got up and now Vixen has stomped off in a mood. Toad and Raven are running around (I think they're trying to keep warm). Fred is hiding somewhere because strangers came round. Lex and Ghostie are asleep somewhere so only my tiny Frankfurter is sitting with me.

I have electricity! I have heat! Fred is back to being glued against the heater, and Frankie is...well, melted.

Hooray for electricity! Hope you and the gang have all warmed up nicely by now.

My DH has been admitted to hospital again, hopefully just overnight for observation, following some concerning symptoms. We knew it would be a bumpy road to recovery but it's a hard evening tonight and I'm very thankful for my furry friend. He doesn't always sit with me of an evening but he somehow seems to know when I could do with a cuddle 🧡
