Has anyone got one of those self cleaning litter boxes?

I keep seeing them advertised the price…wow!!!! But I also see people mention they are dangerous and has killed cats with the mechanism.

We had a Cat Genie but it took 45 minutes to clean itself and I didn't like that the cats would be without a toilet for that long. I was also worried they could be inside when it started cleaning.

We did get a Breeze and that was far more straightforward, less dusty, and easier to keep clean than a standard litter box.

I looked at them but agree with the above that the cleaning schedule is ridiculously long. I have am elderly cat and I worry that as she gets older she won't be able to hold on that long. Haven't seen anything about them killing cats mind.

We have two similar to this and they are much better for nit getting litter all over and really easy to clean

We got one few weeks ago. Only takes a few minutes to run the clean cycle and stops if the cat steps back into it. One ours loves it (thinks it is toilet and cat TV in one machine) but he never buried his doings and approves of something else doing it for him, the other one seems to regard it as a slight on his cleanliness that something cleans up after him and continues to use the traditional litter box.
