I just NEED to share him with you - this is Biggles, my gorgeous 3 year old rescue, FIP survivor on long term mefloquine. I took this photo and I’m just so proud of him, he’s gone from looking like half a cat to a proper, full cat 😍😍😍😍

He is the living proof that FIP in kitten hood is no longer a death sentence! Long live Biggles! 🥰

(Also a little opportunity to ask you all to donate to your small local rescues this Christmas- they do such an amazing job! Biggsy comes from a very tiny rescue, effectively a one woman show, the work she does is heroic and I’m sure there will be lots of similar rescues around!)

I don’t know what FIP is but I do know that you have a lovely intelligent new friend!

It’s basically cat Covid - 80% of all cats are carriers, but if contracted in kittenhood or old age it’s fatal, or was up until recently.
The pandemic was, in a way, beneficial to cats. New ways of treating FIP were discovered during that time. My cat’s virus is being managed with malaria drugs :)

I’ve had him for almost 2 years now and I’m so glad he’s thriving! The lady who rescues cats locally has poured an enormous amount of love, care and her own time and money into him and now trusts me to take care of him. ❤️Technically I’m still just fostering him, but will adopt him once she feels the time is right!
